GLC Projects Levels Downing Barrow!

Following a competitive tendering process, GLC Projects recently secured a project with Barrow Borough Council to demolish a redundant retail unit adjacent to the indoor market in the town centre.

The works is the first phase of a wider refurbishment and town centre development project for Barrow Borough Council forming part of a £17.5 million Levelling Up Fund scheme to transform the market and its exterior.

The project which started last month with internal stripout, has now moved onto the building demolition phase, which will see the building demolished to leave a safe, level site. 

The GLC Projects site team have been working closely alongside the Council, market staff and wider community to ensure minimal disruption throughout the works. Letter drops have been carried out to all market traders, who were extremely pleased to hear that the market entrance would be kept open for business throughout the full duration of the works.
